Where are you Christmas...why can't I find you?? - Dec. 9, 2024
Well howdy,
How's everyone doing this fine lunes? Hope all is well wherever you are. Still cooking it up down here with Elder Jones! Things are coming along and life is good. Officially hit 5 months as a missionary so thats pretty cool.
As for the title, I started to hum the song by Cindy Lou Who from the grinch, and figured it fit pretty well for the amount decorating around here. Not much to say the least, which is OK. I did see a mini Christmas tree and a few lights strung on a window last night, so we are getting somewhere!! Excluding the lack of festivity, haha, all is well!
A lot of the typical interesting experiences this week, so let's get into it.
12/2-3:
Made some killer Argentine asado y choripan for the first time! Pretty tasty to say the least. Nothing else too crazy on Pday but had an exchange with Elder Dufour from Vermont! He's a cool guy, went to Army West Point for 2 years and was serving in the Army before coming out. Tuesday, we had a fun day finding some people to teach and also finally getting our buddy Facundo on date for baptism.
12/5-
Started out the day pretty slow, not much action. Towards the end we decided to go to the house of our main man Hermano Ramirez. We got there and his wife said he was shopping but would be back in 10. She offered to let us relax inside but we decided we wanted to go see if we could find someone in 10min! We said prayer in the street for guidance. The moment we finished the prayer we looked at eachother and both felt we needed to go down a certain street. We walked a few steps, saw a door open, looked at eachother again, and without talking, started walking towards the door. Fast forward 15min, we had a great convo with a guy named Leo and gave him a Book of Mormon. Crazy how prayer works sometimes eh...

12/6-
Went out to the park for the morning, I got a few miles of running in, after which my comp was showing me some rugby. We were playin around, kicking the ball and so forth. That was until, I kicked the ball and somehow it just kept on bouncing all the way to the busy road. The ball bounced right into traffic, nailing the front of a car, which sent a few bumper pieces flying. To our surprise, the car just kept on driving, and the ball was totally fine.
12/7-
Occasionally we get the most random comments or bad words thrown at us, but for some reason this day was a little interesting. Started off with a guy telling us to come talk to him, so we walked over. He looked at us, said a few naughty words, told us we weren't children of God, then told us to walk away before he "did something". Me and my comp were holding in slight laughter as it was the most random thing ever... he called us over, and we just starred at him while he yapped. After which he told us to walk away, and keep walking, even though he's the one who told us to come over in the first place... yeah, anyways. Then later in the evening, we had a guy named Lucio who decided to tell us he stabbed and killed someone 2 years ago, as we were standing in his house. Luckily, he was pretty chill with us and even offered to make us lunch next week. Don't worry, we aren't going back. Of course there are some interesting people down here, but there are also some of the most amazing and humble people as well!! In reality, all these experiences or occasional hatred, only fortifies my testimony even more In the restored gospel of Jesus Christ!! And don't worry, I love it down here!!
(Too much alcohol?
)Ps. Please, I'm begging everyone on this email. NEVER TOUCH ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. Genuinely please don't. It's horrible, the things that come from alcohol and cigs. Just don't. Anyways...
12/8-
Finished off the week with a great stake conference (all the wards in this area meet up for a big sacrament meeting type deal). After which we came home and made burgers, fries, and chocolate cake. Yum!!

Recently I have been doing a lot of study on the Second Coming of The Alpha and Omega. Our Savior Jesus Christ. It is real guys. We are: (The Church Jesus Christ of **Latter-Day Saints) for a reason. We wonder why the prophet and modern day apostles have been talking so much on it!! No one has any ounce of an idea when he shall come again, not even the angels. But. The best part about it all, is that, the second coming isn't an event of fear! It is quite literally the opposite.
When Christ comes there will be an end to the world. There will not be any war, any turmoil, envying, lying; there will be no wickedness. Men will learn then to love the Lord and keep His commandments, and if they don’t they will not stay here. That’s the end of the world, and that is what the Savior prayed for when His disciples came to Him and said, ‘Teach us to pray.’ What did He do? He taught them, ‘Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.’ [Luke 11:1–2.]
So what does this mean? It means now more than ever, we should be lifting up our voices!! Sharing the good news and most of all, being true disciples of Jesus Christ. Now is not the time to slack off. Have JOY in HIS name. I encourage everyone, to be at least 1% better each day. Show more Christ-like love. And most of all, don't be afraid. Rejoice.
Love you all!
Do some more study on the Second Coming if you get a chance.
