Bendiciones Del Día a Día - Nov. 18. 2024
Howdy Everyone!!
Another week, another update. Hope everyone is absolutely loving life back in the States, or wherever else you are. Just finished off the first week with a new comp and as a trainer! Still absolutely loving life as a missionary, and being able to wake up and go to work with one purpose in mind! Occasionally I'll have to pinch myself and remember I am across the world, walking the streets as a 19 yr old!!! Crazy
One large blessing that I have noticed this week is that the gift of tongues is truly real!!! I'm not sure if I just didn't open my mouth enough or what, but geez my spanish took a huge leap in 1 week! The blessings of training eh... So yeah, I'm thinking it's because I'm literally the one having to keep us alive right now haha, wether it be teaching lessons, or street conversations, talking with members, or even just buying/ordering food, I am lucky enough to have to do it all, and obviously In spanish!! I'm not fluent by any means, but wow it is so refreshing to see the differences in literally just 12 weeks!?
My trainee is Elder Jones from New Mexico! He is so awesome and ready to learn and grow as a missionary. He's big into rugby so he was teaching me the basics one morning this week! I like to think of him as the BFG haha (Big friendly giant) ! Being into rugby he's obviously a big kid, and probably could take me out at any second...
but at the same time the nicest dude ever!! We are still both learning and growing together, as I'm still very new, but it is a great time!! Being able to train truly has excelled my own desire and abilities to the next level!

11/12
Said goodbye to my trainer Elder Myers. Was a very sad goodbye as it was such a great 12 weeks!! He taught me how to be a consecrated and obedient missionary while at the same time becoming best friends with me!! We for sure will be going to the World Cup and bringing some of our Argentine friends (Gonzalo) haha!!
Thr man, The myth, The legend
(Hahahah, old Pic, but a funny one) 11/13-
Spent the day with Elder Rodriguez from Madrid, Spain, and Elder Espinoza from Ecuador. We were all waiting for our trainees to fly in so we had a great time working together! We had some fun experiences, then took a Uber from Moreno to Ramos Mejia, all 3 of us crammed in the back of a tiny car!!
(Their pension has a play house!!)
11/15-
Having to teach pretty much the whole lessons has been quite the Spanish booster! This day we had 2 lessons with our friends Elizabeth and Sandra! I was a tad worried going into these lessons as I wasn't sure how my spanish would be, however I was pleasantly surprised!! Though the helping hand of the Lord, I was able to teach what we needed to with ease, and Elder Jones even gave his testimony a few times in broken Spanish, which truly just brought the spirit even more! We finished out both lessons with putting each of them on baptismal date!! So amazing.

(Funny experience)
So yesterday it rained all day, and the temperature decided to drop from 95 to 68. Yeah, crazy. So in other words, it was a ghost town!! Literally. Everyone absolutely hates the rain around here and seems to be scared of it. But anyways, we were out walking when two guys from across the street waved us over. They looked a little suspicious so we hesitantly waited as they walked over to us. I start talking to them, and they no joke, pull out a phone and go "can you type in the password for us", I was a little confused, so I asked them who's phone it was, they said it was "theirs" (mhmmmm). I said ok, then asked why they wanted me to type in the password. They said they "Forgot it" and was wanting to see if I knew it... Me and my comp just stood there so confused. These guys no joke looked like Dumb and Dumber hahah. They came up to us asking if we knew the password to a phone they 100% stole. They then asked if we could show them how to put in a password using our phones, which to that we obviously just said we don't have phones. After we had said we don't have phones, they just turned around and walked away. Very odd robbery strategy...

Spiritual Thought:
This week was one filled with a ton of personal growth. I have learned so much about the work as I'm now having to show someone else how to be a missionary!! One thing that I notice over and over again about this work is the FOCUS that we are given. In no other time in my life besides now, do i have the ability to focus on one purpose so intently. This focus, opens up my perspective to new heights allowing me to recognize the constant flow of miracles each and every day.
One talk I loved this week from an Apostle of God was:
Our Heartfelt All - Dieter F. Utchdorf- 2022
Here's a little snippet:
As we seek to purify our lives and look unto Christ in every thought, everything else begins to align. Life no longer feels like a long list of separate efforts held in tenuous balance.
Over time, it all becomes one work.
One joy.
One holy purpose.
It is the work of loving and serving God. It is loving and serving God’s children.
When we look at our lives and see a hundred things to do, we feel overwhelmed. When we see one thing—loving and serving God and His children, in a hundred different ways—then we can work on those things with joy. This is how we offer our whole souls—by sacrificing anything that’s holding us back and consecrating the rest to the Lord and His purposes.
Hope Everyone Has a Great Week! Feel free to shoot me some updates on your lives! I love to hear back!
