Mourn With Those Who Mourn- March 10, 2025
Hey guys!! Tanto tiempo.. eh?
Just thought I'd give ya'll a quick little update on life down here in the abyss. Lots of great days, good days, meh days, and...days. But overall mostly pretty peaceful and good. Not much goes on here in Padua crazy or dangerous so I apologize for the lack in content. But I'll give it my best shot for a recap of these past 2 weeks, and maybe even an email more spiritual based. (We all could use a little more spirituality
)

)Let's start with a few events/highlights:
Weather Update

- Had quite the weird past 2 weeks in weather... If I remember correctly it rained pretty much every day last week and was in the upper 80's. Then this week it decided to shoot up to 98⁰ 3 days of the week with 95% humidity... absolutely horrible. BUT. Then we took a turn for the best! Starting yesterday we dropped down to the upper 60s and 70s. Absolutely amazing, now hopefully it just stays that way.

☆ Lots of Intercambios these past weeks. Elder Ford from Colorado, Elder Mejia from Peru, Elder Davis from Utah, and Elder Dominguez from Dominican Republic.
☆ On the Intercambio with Elder Ford we were walking in the Plaza and came up to a lady and her kids. Asked if we could share a 2 min message, she agreed, so we sat down and started sharing about who we were. I felt a strong impression to share about how in the Church of Jesus Christ we belive in eternal families. She began to sob and said her niece just died at the age of 6 and needed exactly those words. I don't know what happened after but I know that even if nothing ends up happening and she doesn't get baptized, those simple words made a huge impact and most of all gave her...hope. The same thing happened 2 days later on an intercambio with Elder Mejia. We stopped a lady in the street who began to sob, saying her 17 yr old son got killed a month ago. Once again. The same words, and the same feelings of hope.
☆ Our Recent Convert Maria Estela has been great but unfortunately her sons arent too happy. They go to a different church and have decided to take her phone and block us, throw away her Libro de Mormón, and so forth. But with all that, we were able to have a great spiritual lesson and she is pushing through the opposition!
☆ Met a random lady on the street. (She was a little crazy. Possibly drugs. Not sure) But anyways, she told us to go to the street Chaco, because someone is there waiting for Jesus. Very thoughtful and random, but of course we bolted over to that street. Knocked all the doors, and nothing, until the last house. Found a lady named Sol who also began to sob when we gave her a Book of Mormon and explained she has a purpose in this life.
●Quick break from the sad stuff to...Fun●
- Played chair soccer on pday, bowling and pool.
- Bought batteries for my R/C Audi R8, and now it drives. Sweet
- A member named Ismael knows more history than I can even comprehend and let me hold his great great grandpa's sword. Also he gladly reps a Confederate flag but we won't talk about that...
- Had a mission leadership meeting in Ramos and ate lots of food.
- Getting denied very harshly and cussed out is beginning to become entertaining...
- Some mom got extremely angry at us because her daughter sent in a social media reference to meet with us and we showed up at their door.
- Played a game with Elder Dominguez and ended up buying a watermelon. Don't ask...
Ok now to continue...
☆ A missionary from the ward here in Padua finished his mission, from serving in Chubut Argentina. He was the assistant to his president so we are excited to have him to help out here a bit.
☆ Lastly, we've been trying for a while now to find a family in the ward who had an unfortunate accident a few months back. Their 19yr old son was working on painting their 2 story house and fell from the roof backwards, hitting the concrete ground. He ended up being ok for a week and walked it off. But had an unnoticed brain bleed which the hospital did not locate. He died 1 week later. This all happened 2 months ago. So as you can imagine they are still quite in shock and very sad. We finally were able to find them and had a simple 20min conversation simply trying to keep their spirits up and take their minds off the accident.
Cant lie we havent been seeing much success here in Padua. It actually has been quite brutal. But. Sometimes our purpose as missionaries is to simply...Mourn with those who mourn. Show Christ-like love, and help others keep pushing through this sometimes brutal life.
Mosiah 18:9
9 Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life
