Gang Warfare- March 24, 2025
Howdy Gente!!
Just wanted to shoot ya'll a quick email to let you know how I've been doing down here! These past two weeks have been some of the normal but also mixed in, were a few interesting events youll be interested to hear about!
Oh! Transfers did just happen this past Monday, and I got a new companion, Elder Clark from Arizona! Elder Clark goes home in 3 months so you could say hes pretty well seasoned. He was already here in Padua a year ago so hes still trying to cope with the déjà vu. Other than that, times just tickin along, livin life, having fun, and helping other to come unto Chrsit!!
Some interesting Events:
☆ Got to participate in a large service project as a Zone!! It was a great time and change up to the typical schedule. We all got together, went to the bishops storehouse in VillaAmelia and packed huge crates of food to ship to the people in Bahia Blanca who just went through a huge storm and flooding. Finished off the service with hot-chocolate and tortas Fritas

☆ Had lunch with a member named Ismael. He is around 80 yrs old and is a super great guy. Very very veryyy well versed with his history. He can quite literally tell you about anything you ask history wise. He also happens to be a very huge fan of Texas, and knows a ton about the civil war. So, as you might guess, me being from Texas got him all riled up, and the lunch ended up being an hour long conversation over Texas, the Civil War, JFK, Abe Lincoln, WW2, Bombs, Guns, and more... Fun times
Scripture Intermission!!
Romans 5: 3-5
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
☆ Poor Elder Clark arrived here in Padua pretty sick, but we still went out all week because the moto pretty much is, that if you aren't throwing up and can still walk, ya go out and work. So that's what we did, annddd now I'm sick too. But luckily we hit PDay so we've got at least one day to try to feel better.
☆ Found a sweet grandma in the street named Esther. She explained to us that she wasn't baptized and has been looking to be baptized, so we gladly explained to her our unique message and she accepted an invitation to be baptized there on the side of the road. Unfortunately she doesn't live in our area, but it's Ok! Not sure how she's doing now, but hopefully she'll get baptized soon!
☆ Went on an intercambio w/ Elder Miller from Holladay, Utah. Super tranquilo and we worked great together. Although, at one point, we were standing in a lesson talking with a guy on the road, when I look over and see a cat doing his business, the cat decided to let out a large fart, and both my comp Elder Miller and the guy we were talking too, both looked at me and thought I had just let a large fart loose... I attempted to explain the situation, but they still don't believe me. Quite unfortunate and hilarious experience.
☆ Finally Something Interesting
So, we were walking down in the north part of our area, at 11am, a little more humble part of our area. There weren't too many people in the streets, but we stumbled upon a semi drunk guy. Probably in his mid 20s/30, he asked if we could share a scripture with him and of course we agreed. He said "let's go to the shade over there". We were like ok yeah that's fair, as it was very hot outside. Got in the shade, started to talk a few seconds, then he goes "You know, im out here robbing right now... pulls up his shirt and pulls out a revolver. Shows us the revolver, then puts it back in his shirt. Me and my companion were pretty much un-fazed, he asked for some money, we told him we didn't have nothing, gave him a Jesus card, and he just shook our hands and walked away. Didn't see him again. Me and my comp just kinda stood there after laughing, just because of how random the whole ordeal was.
☆ We were in a lesson with a grandma named Cristina and her small grandkids and daughter/son. She let us in her tiny apartment, doors closed, windows closed, 0 ventilation. They all decided to start smoking inside. Within the 30min we were there they each smoked 3 cigarettes.... yes... we got hotboxed. Let's just say we left that lesson, with blood shot eyes, crippled lungs, and coughing up a storm. Horrible. Never smoke people, please.
☆ Got fed horrid, moldy cheese, highly un-recommended.
☆ Last but not least, got stuck in the middle of a gang warfare. Of dogs... A dog gang warfare. Yes. We were walking last night, and were being followed by our buddy Steve. (Random street dog). Unfortunately we came up onto a corner absolutely filled with like 3 different packs of dogs. Unfortunately Steve got destroyed. Hopefully he escaped, we aren't too sure, as we booked it out of there.
Phew.... ok there some events from the past 2 weeks.
Ill leave yall now with a quote. From the goat. Holland!!!
"To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His “more excellent ministry” with a future of “better promises.” He is your “high priest of good things to come.”
Much Love.
¡Hasta lo Próximo!
